The Mental Health Association, founded in 1954, serves the Capital Area Untied Way ten parish area including East Baton Rouge, West Baton Rouge, Ascension, Iberville, Livingston, St. James, East Feliciana, West Feliciana, Pointe Coupee, and St. Helena.
 

The Mission of the Association is to provide positive consumer-driven social and behavioral outcomes for persons living with, or at risk for, mental illness, through direct care service programs, advocacy and public education.

We operate the following consumer service programs:

Alliance House Drop In Center

Alliance House Residential Center

Bridges Program

Consumers Helping Consumers (CHC)

Independent Living Programs (ILP)

We also:

Provide various outreach activities

Provide mental health information and referrals

Support legislation for the rights of persons with mental illness

Provide support services to  (National Alliance of Mentally Ill) NAMI

Serve as a speakers bureau

Act as Hospital Friends to East Louisiana State Hospital
